1 poundground chicken, ground turkey or ground beef
28 oz. canstomato sauce with basil, garlic and oregano(Hunts brand)
1cupshredded cheddar cheese
18 oz. canoriginal crescent rolls(Pillsbury brand)
Instructions
Brown ground meat in a skillet over medium heat using a spatula to break meat into small pieces until it is thoroughly cooked.
Pour cooked meat into a colander in the sink and rinse with hot water. Drain and pat dry.
Return meat to skillet and add 2 (8oz) cans of Hunts tomato sauce with basil, garlic and oregano.
Heat until sauce is bubbling - about 10 minutes.
Pour meat and sauce mixture into lightly greased 9x9 casserole dish.
Sprinkle 1 cup of cheddar cheese on top.
Separately assemble crescent rolls for baking. Roll into 8 triangles and place on a lightly greased baking sheet.
Place casserole dish with meat and cheese in the oven at the same time as the crescent rolls. They fit side by side.
Bake at 375° for 9 to 12 minutes until crescent rolls are golden and cheese is melted in the casserole dish.
Remove casserole dish and baking sheet from oven.
Remove crescent rolls from baking sheet and place them on top of the meat, sauce and melted cheese in the casserole dish.
Serve immediately.
