Cook canned biscuits on your griddle for an easy crispy outside, tender inside bite of delicious to go with whatever else you are cooking up on the griddle. The flavor can't be beat! Spread butter and jelly on a biscuit or make a sausage egg biscuit.
1canbiscuits(any brand, cooking time is for grand size.)
1tblsolive oil(or avocado oil or canola oil)
Instructions
Apply a light layer of oil to griddle.
Preheat griddle to low: about 325°F for 5 minutes.
Open can of biscuits and place dough on griddle.
Flip the biscuits about every 2 minutes until done. Use a spatula to gently press the biscuits against the griddle surface and hold in heat as they cook. Optionally, use a wire rack and cover. Blackstone makes a good steaming cover or use an aluminum pan or foil tent.
After about 15 minutes the biscuits should be golden on both sides and cooked in the middle. Add a few minutes if needed to be sure the middle is cooked. You can place them along the edge of the griddle where the heat is not as hot (away from the path of the burners underneath) and let them finish cooking without burning the outsides.
Serve and enjoy!
Notes
Nutritional information is an estimate and will vary according to ingredients used. For a biscuit texture that is more like an oven, use a wire rack and steaming cover or close the grill lid.For crispy biscuits that aren't as fluffy they can be cooked straight on the griddle and are delicious served alone, with butter and jelly, or sausage, bacon and eggs!
